Lagride Launches Omni to Transform Group Transport in Lagos

Smart mobility platform Lagride has unveiled the Lagride Omni, a low-cost, air-conditioned shared-ride service tailored for offices, schools, churches, and large groups. The service aims to modernize Lagos’ group transportation, offering a safer, cleaner, and more coordinated alternative to the traditional Korope minibuses. Designed for comfort, convenience, and community, the Omni promises a new standard of travel for the city.

Early feedback shows strong interest from riders attracted by the affordable pricing, comfort, and convenience of traveling together with friends, family, or colleagues. Unlike traditional buses, the Lagride Omni offers private, non-stop rides, booked via the Lagride app, without repeated pick-ups or detours, yet still at a highly competitive price.

At the launch, Lagride Chairman, Chief Diana Chen, described the Omni as a major step in the company’s mission to democratize mobility. “Mobility drives opportunity. By making modern transport accessible to all, Lagride is building a more connected Lagos, where movement creates meaning and community thrives,” she said.

The service combines technology, safety, and comfort: each vehicle is air-conditioned, GPS-enabled, and operated by certified drivers trained through the Lagride Academy, ensuring high standards in safety and customer service. With seating for up to six passengers, the Omni facilitates coordinated group travel that is reliable, comfortable, and cost-effective.

Acting Managing Director, Mr. Jubril Arogundade, explained: “The Omni meets the real needs of Lagosians who travel together daily. A single booking allows everyone in a group to ride together—from offices to community events—safely and conveniently.”

Organisations, churches, and schools can plan trips via the Lagride app or WhatsApp, with flexible payment options including corporate billing, pre-paid bookings, and cashless transactions.

In line with its expansion, Lagride is recruiting 1,000 new drivers, all trained and certified through the Lagride Academy in collaboration with the Lagos State Government and transport safety partners. Mr. Arogundade emphasized the dual impact: “The Omni not only innovates transport but empowers Lagosians with sustainable income opportunities, combining inclusion with modern mobility for the benefit of the entire city.”
