GOtv Boxing Night Jam Festival Set to Return to Lagos

For the past five years, December 26 has transformed Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) into a pulsating hub of sport and music, as the GOtv Boxing Night Jam Festival brings fans together for a year-end celebration like no other.

What started in 2014 as a boxing revival project has evolved into a full-fledged sportainment experience, where the ring meets the stage and the crowd enjoys knockout punches alongside chart-topping beats. Organisers Flykite Productions have confirmed that the festival will return this year on the same date and at the iconic Lagos venue.

“Boxing fans and music lovers alike fill the bleachers,” the organisers noted. “It’s a celebration of gbedu and gloves—where live performances and sporting excellence collide.”

Over the years, the Jam Festival component has grown into a marquee attraction. Past editions have featured top-tier acts such as Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Teni The Entertainer, and Daddy Showkey, alongside world-class boxing bouts. Later editions showcased a dynamic mix of stars, including Ruger, Pheelz, Zlatan, Mayorkun, 9ice, Chinko Ekun, Nasboi, Styl-Plus, YKB, and comedy from MC Lively.

The festival’s enduring appeal lies in its cross-generational and cross-genre approach. By blending veteran performers with rising stars, GOtv Boxing Night draws a diverse crowd—from Lagos fun seekers to die-hard fight enthusiasts. The effect is electric: a powerful right hook in the ring resonates with the bass drop of an Afrobeats anthem.

Flykite Productions explained that the event is designed to be more than just boxing: “It’s a party under the Lagos skies. Fans will experience a mind-blowing package of entertainment and sport.”

From its humble beginnings, the festival has become a template for multidisciplinary events in Nigeria, raising production standards and broadening audiences for both boxing and live music. For musicians, performing between bouts offers a platform to connect with highly engaged fans and gain continental exposure via SuperSport’s live broadcast. For boxers, it means larger crowds, enhanced production values, and a more mainstream showcase for their talent.

With the return of the GOtv Boxing Night Jam Festival, Lagos is set to once again witness a night where the thrill of sport meets the magic of music.
