Lagos reaffirmed its status as a global fashion destination with the 8th edition of GTCO Fashion Weekend, held over two days from November 8 to 9, 2025. The event attracted fashion enthusiasts, models, and industry professionals from across the globe.
This year’s edition delivered a vibrant blend of runway shows, retail exhibitions, masterclasses, and an energetic streetwear hub, highlighting both established and emerging talent.
Since its inception in 2016, the Guaranty Trust Fashion Weekend, an initiative of Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), has grown into a premier platform that showcases African designers while connecting small businesses to global markets.
“For nearly a decade, GTCO Fashion Weekend has celebrated creativity, innovation, and enterprise,” said Segun Agbaje, Group CEO of GTCO. “The platform empowers local brands while captivating fashion lovers from around the world.”
Agbaje noted that the event’s mission goes beyond fashion: “By connecting small businesses to wider markets, GTCO Fashion Weekend has evolved into one of Africa’s most anticipated fashion and lifestyle events, uniting entrepreneurs and audiences from across the continent and beyond.”
Marking its eighth edition, the event reflects on its journey of nurturing talent and inspiring countless stories. “Each year, the Weekend reaffirms our belief that enterprise thrives where creativity is encouraged and opportunity is shared. Through fashion, we have built a platform that showcases talent, nurtures ambition, and drives meaningful participation in Africa’s growing creative economy.”
Highlighting the platform’s ongoing commitment, Agbaje added: “By bringing together both emerging and established voices in fashion, we continue to celebrate the ingenuity and diversity that define African creativity, enriching lives and strengthening communities. Looking forward, our goal is to showcase remarkable talent, inspire sustainable growth, and move Africa’s creative economy forward.”
