Adedeji Ademigbuji, a former Nigerian journalist, has been recognized among the Top 50 Men of Impact 2025 by The Industry Newspaper for his outstanding contributions in media and humanitarian reporting. Ranked 45th on the list, Ademigbuji stands out for his commitment to telling the stories of people affected by crises—from conflict and hunger in northeast Nigeria to climate-driven displacement in Somalia, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
After nearly 16 years in Lagos newsrooms, Ademigbuji transitioned into humanitarian communications in 2017. He currently serves as Public Information and Reporting Officer for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Ukraine, where he produces bulletins, situation snapshots, and thematic reports to keep the world informed about the human toll of the conflict.
Before his assignment in Ukraine, Ademigbuji worked with OCHA and the World Food Programme in northeast Nigeria, documenting the effects of armed conflict and COVID-19 on vulnerable communities. His reporting highlighted the struggles of displaced families, frontline responders, and communities grappling with food insecurity.
The Top 50 Men of Impact list celebrates leaders across Nigeria’s media, marketing, banking, telecom, technology, and energy sectors. Ademigbuji is recognized for using storytelling to raise global awareness and influence positive humanitarian outcomes, distinguishing him from boardroom executives and corporate powerhouses.
Throughout his career, Ademigbuji has received numerous journalism awards, including the Schneider Electric Award for Reporting on Electrical Counterfeiting in Africa, reflecting his dedication to impactful, socially relevant reporting.
Speaking on the rationale for the awards, The Industry Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, Goddie Ofose, noted that the initiative honors men who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and societal influence, while balancing professional excellence with the wellbeing of those they serve.
Ademigbuji’s recognition underscores the vital role of media professionals in amplifying the voices of vulnerable populations and shaping global humanitarian discourse.
