The GFK Edanuko Foundation has announced its upcoming fundraising event, “Empowering Hope, Changing Lives,” scheduled to hold in December at Landmark Hotel, Port Harcourt. The initiative aims to raise funds to support underprivileged families, children, and youths across Rivers State.
Founder Faith Edanuko said the theme reflects the foundation’s mission to turn compassion into sustainable impact.
“Every act of kindness, no matter how small, restores hope and transforms lives. Our goal is to reach out to the underprivileged, empower families, and give hope to people who have lost faith,” she said.
Edanuko shared that the foundation was inspired by her personal experiences growing up in Ahoada, Rivers State, where she witnessed children dropping out of school due to hardship and young people lacking opportunities.
“Through this initiative, we’re providing education scholarships, youth empowerment programs, and community outreach projects, especially targeting women and children,” she added.
Event planner Anita Igoni credited the planning success to teamwork and dedication.
“It wasn’t easy pulling resources together, but our team remained focused on the purpose of touching lives. The encouragement and commitment of friends and partners kept us going,” she said.
Co-founder Goodness Edanuko highlighted plans for the foundation beyond the fundraiser, including establishing skill acquisition centers, scholarship schemes, and partnerships with corporate and government bodies to ensure long-term sustainability.
The GFK Edanuko Foundation’s initiative represents a committed effort to improve lives in Rivers State, bringing hope, education, and opportunities to communities in need.
