#BringBackOurGirls2025: Mike Arnold Calls for Immediate Rescue of Kebbi Schoolgirls

Former Blanco, Texas Mayor Mike Arnold has condemned the attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga in Kebbi State, where gunmen killed Vice Principal Hassan Yakubu Makuku and abducted 25 female students.

Reacting on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Arnold wrote:

“11 years after Chibok, 25 more girls stolen from school in Kebbi. #BringBackOurGirls2025 demands: Immediate rescue operations, armed school security, and zero tolerance for ransoms. Who’s with me?”

Arnold, a prominent voice in the revived #BringBackOurGirls2025 movement, has sparked widespread discussion online, with Nigerians sharing posts using the hashtag and urging urgent government intervention.

The attack, which occurred in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area on Sunday night, left several other pupils and staff seriously injured. Gunmen reportedly stormed the school, firing sporadically before abducting the students. The incident has reignited concerns over school security in rural areas, which remain vulnerable to bandit attacks.

In response, federal authorities have deployed the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to Kebbi State to rescue the abducted students.

The #BringBackOurGirls2025 movement continues to trend on social media as Nigerians call for the safe return of the students and stronger measures to protect schools nationwide.
