Thai Woman Shockingly Found Alive in Coffin Before Cremation

Nonthaburi, Thailand – November 24, 2025: In an extraordinary incident at Wat Rat Prakhong Tham temple near Bangkok, a 65-year-old woman was discovered alive after being declared dead and placed in a coffin for cremation.

Temple Staff Stunned by Coffin Movements

Temple staff shared a video on Facebook showing the woman lying in a white coffin in the back of a pick-up truck, slightly moving her arms and head. The movements left employees bewildered, prompting them to open the coffin immediately.

Pairat Soodthoop, the temple’s general and financial affairs manager, explained:

“I saw her opening her eyes slightly and knocking on the side of the coffin. She must have been knocking for quite some time.”

Journey and Misdiagnosis

The woman had been bedridden for about two years. Her health reportedly worsened, and she appeared unresponsive and not breathing for two days. Her brother transported her roughly 500 kilometers (300 miles) from Phitsanulok province to Bangkok, hoping to donate her organs to a hospital.

The hospital refused the organ donation due to the lack of an official death certificate. Seeking a free cremation at Wat Rat Prakhong Tham temple, the brother also encountered refusal for the same reason—until the miraculous knocking was heard.

Hospitalization and Support

After discovering she was alive, temple staff immediately sent the woman to a nearby hospital. The temple abbot has pledged to cover her medical expenses, ensuring she receives proper care.

This incident highlights the critical importance of proper medical verification before declaring death and has sparked wide attention on social media.
