As the Christmas season approaches, Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team Commanders to enhance security surveillance across the state.
Addressing officers at the Command Headquarters in Owerri on Tuesday, Danjuma warned that any security lapse or unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated. He stressed the importance of collaboration with other security agencies and mandated continuous patrols around places of worship, schools, markets, recreational centres, and critical infrastructure to ensure a safe and peaceful festive period.
The commissioner instructed all operational units to remain vigilant, intensify patrols, and respond promptly to emergencies. He also cautioned potential troublemakers that anyone apprehended would face the full weight of the law.
CP Danjuma further urged residents to support security efforts by providing accurate information and verifying reports before sharing them, to prevent the spread of false alarms.
