Bandits Launch Multiple Midnight Attacks Across Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger and Kano States

A series of coordinated attacks across Kano, Niger, Sokoto, and Zamfara states between Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning has left several communities in shock, with multiple deaths, injuries, and abductions reported.

According to field monitors, the nearly simultaneous assaults intensified fears among residents already overwhelmed by years of persistent insurgent and bandit violence.

Kano State: Evening Attack on Minjibir LGA

Gunmen stormed Kuru community in Minjibir LGA around 6pm on Thursday, firing sporadically.
One civilian was injured, and the attackers looted several homes. Witnesses described the incident as sudden and terrifying.

Niger State: Pregnant Women Among Abducted Farmers

In Niger State, bandits raided the outskirts of Unguwar Kawo, abducting several farmers, including four pregnant women.
The attack has plunged the farming community into deep distress.

Sokoto State: Women and Child Abducted in Isa

In the early hours of Thursday, bandits struck Isa town in Sokoto.
One man was injured, while two women and a boy were abducted. Families remain anxious as search efforts intensify.

Zamfara State: Multiple Night Attacks

Late-night assaults in Bakyasuwa left one civilian dead, with others injured or abducted.
Residents woke up in fear, uncertain about the fate of community members taken during the attack.

A separate incident in Kwaren Ganuwa, also in Zamfara, saw bandits ambush farmers on the outskirts of the community. A male member of the ZCPG was killed while heading to his farm, leaving residents in shock and mourning.

Communities Feel Abandoned

The string of attacks within such a narrow time frame underscores a disturbing escalation of violence across Northern Nigeria.

Local residents say they feel exhausted, unheard, and abandoned as insecurity continues to shape daily life in many rural communities.
