Legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has revealed that his first son, Nino, isn’t interested in following in his musical footsteps.
Although Nino is a talented saxophonist, 2Face shared that his son aspires to become a medical doctor instead of pursuing a career in music.
The revelation came during an event in Abuja celebrating 2Face’s 25 years in the music industry, where he brought Nino on stage.
“Making some noise for my son Nino, mehn,” he told the crowd, adding, “He said he doesn’t want to be a singer. He wants to be a doctor.” The audience responded with enthusiastic cheers.
Born on January 15, 2006, to 2Face and his former partner Sumbo Adeoye, Nino has also made a name for himself as a model, saxophonist, and social media influencer.
Children following their parents into the music industry is a familiar trend in Nigeria. Recently, Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Balogun, launched his music career at age 14 with his debut EP, Champions’ Arrival, performing under the stage name Champz.
