Nollywood: Wumi Toriola Kneels to Apologise, Reconciles with Afeez Owo [VIDEO]

Popular Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has publicly apologised to veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo after their heated exchange on social media.

The reconciliation occurred on Wednesday evening during actor Odunlade Adekola’s movie premiere. In a video that has since gone viral, Wumi approached Afeez, knelt before him, and said, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me.”

Initially hesitant, Afeez eventually lifted her up and embraced her, signalling a mutual resolution.

The feud began two months ago when Afeez commented on Wumi’s acting style during an interview on the African A-List podcast, stating that her roles were “similar to her character in real life” and that “violence is her comfort zone.”

In response, Wumi posted a now-deleted video on Instagram, condemning the interview as “rubbish” and criticising Afeez’s remarks. Her reaction sparked widespread online backlash, with many social media users agreeing with Afeez’s assessment. The controversy reportedly affected Wumi’s health, leading to a brief hospitalisation.

The reconciliation marks a public end to the feud, with fans praising both actors for putting aside differences.
