Anambra 2025: PDP Candidate Vows to Shock the World with Victory

ANAMBRA

As the 2025 Anambra State Governorship election draws closer, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Chijioke Obiora, has boldly declared that his victory will surprise both his critics and the political establishment. In an exclusive interview, the former legislator and prominent businessman expressed unwavering confidence that his campaign will revolutionize the state’s political landscape and disrupt the dominance of the ruling party.

Obiora, who has been at the forefront of the PDP’s efforts to wrest power from the incumbent All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), stated that he has a clear plan to address the pressing issues affecting the people of Anambra. According to him, the people’s desire for change and a new direction will drive him to victory come 2025.

Speaking with the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Damagum, during a recent meeting in Abuja, Obiora outlined his vision for a prosperous Anambra, emphasizing economic growth, security, infrastructure development, and job creation as top priorities of his administration.

“I am telling you today that my victory in 2025 will surprise the world,” Obiora boldly stated, with a tone of determination. “People think that APGA has a stranglehold on Anambra politics, but they are mistaken. The people of Anambra are ready for a change, and they know I am the candidate who can deliver that change. My message is resonating across every local government, every community, and every family.”

Obiora pointed out that the current administration has failed to meet the expectations of the people, particularly in areas like healthcare, education, and youth empowerment. He accused the ruling party of being disconnected from the realities on the ground, asserting that the people’s needs are being neglected while their leaders grow increasingly distant.

“The people of Anambra are tired of the status quo. They are tired of politicians who make promises and never follow through,” Obiora said. “I have seen the suffering firsthand. I have spoken to the people, and they have made it clear that they want a new leadership that will prioritize their needs above all else. I am that leader.”

Obiora’s candidacy is seen by many as a direct challenge to the dominance of APGA in the state, a party that has governed Anambra since 2006. His decision to join the PDP was driven by his belief that the party is best positioned to bring about the changes needed in the state.

“It is time for a new era in Anambra,” Obiora emphasized. “Under my leadership, we will focus on economic diversification, improving the business climate, and creating an environment where every Anambra citizen, especially the youth, can find opportunities for success.”

Obiora has made youth empowerment a key pillar of his campaign. He believes that the state’s young population, which is often sidelined in the political process, can play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Anambra. His plans include the establishment of a robust vocational training and skills development program, as well as partnerships with local and international businesses to provide internship and job placement opportunities.

In terms of security, Obiora outlined a comprehensive approach to tackling the growing concerns of crime and insecurity in Anambra. He promised to work closely with the security agencies to ensure the safety of every citizen and to implement community policing strategies that will foster trust between the people and the authorities.

“We cannot move forward as a state if we do not feel safe in our own homes and communities. I am committed to ensuring that Anambra becomes one of the safest states in Nigeria,” Obiora said.

Infrastructure development is another cornerstone of his agenda. Obiora pledged to address the state’s infrastructure deficit by focusing on the rehabilitation of roads, the expansion of healthcare facilities, and the construction of modern schools. He argued that the development of infrastructure is essential for attracting investment and improving the quality of life for the people of Anambra.

“My government will work to ensure that Anambra is a state where businesses thrive, people have access to quality healthcare, and our children are educated in modern, well-equipped schools,” Obiora said. “We cannot afford to lag behind in this fast-evolving world. Anambra must be a state of progress and innovation.”

Obiora’s candidacy has already gained significant traction, with several notable figures within the PDP and beyond pledging their support. His grassroots approach, combined with his track record in public service, has endeared him to many across the state.

As the election approaches, Obiora remains determined to connect with as many voters as possible, leveraging both traditional and digital platforms to spread his message of hope and renewal. He has vowed to run a campaign based on issues, rather than mudslinging and personal attacks, focusing on the future of Anambra rather than the past.

“The election in 2025 will be about the people,” Obiora concluded. “It will be about their dreams, their aspirations, and their desire for a better life. I am ready to fight for them, and together, we will win.”

Obiora’s bold assertion of victory in the upcoming governorship election reflects his confidence in his ability to unite the people of Anambra and deliver the change they have longed for. With his clear agenda and a growing wave of support, the 2025 Anambra governorship race is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and closely contested elections in the state’s history.
