Nigeria is Probably the Biggest Creative Empire in Africa, Says Missdemz

Oluwademilade Abimbola, popularly known as Missdemz, has described Nigeria as the biggest creative empire in Africa. The lifestyle and entertainment content creator, YouTuber, creative director, and entrepreneur shared this insight in a recent interview.

She said:

“I think Nigeria is probably the biggest creative empire in Africa. We are constantly paving the way forward, and I feel the talents that are here are underdiscovered. I believe that is going to be a lot better in the future. I am taking the risk of staying here now, so it’s time to reap the fruit of our labor; I would already be here.”

Why She Moved to Lagos

Missdemz revealed that her move to Lagos from the United Kingdom was inspired by a short visit that revealed the country’s creative potential.

“Honestly, I came to Nigeria for two weeks in April. I was meant to go to Jamaica for my birthday, but one of my friends said I should come to Nigeria, and then I came. In those two weeks, I was out every day, going to parties back-to-back, and meeting people. It was amazing. I was shown the highlights of Nigeria in those two weeks, and I had to extend my stay with an additional week. It left a good taste in my mouth when I got back to London and I was depressed.”

Missdemz’s experience reflects the growing recognition of Nigeria’s vibrant creative ecosystem, which continues to attract talent and attention from across the globe.
