The management team of Nigerian music icon 2Baba Idibia has raised concerns that internal interference is affecting the singer’s career growth and international plans.
During an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, members of 2Baba’s team recounted several incidents they believe have disrupted key projects, particularly those aimed at expanding his presence in global markets.
One team member stressed the importance of reaching international audiences, saying: “You go out there to make your money. Even if it’s 100,000 people listening, the money is enough to sustain you.” He added bluntly, “2Baba needs to recognise that this woman is bad for business.” The team clarified that while personal decisions are respected, the professional consequences cannot be ignored.
When asked about the role of the woman’s family, the team declined to comment, noting, “We don’t want to talk about family… this thing is deeper than what we’re seeing online.”
Troubling Experiences
A team member shared unsettling experiences in the singer’s home, confessing, “I’ve entered into their bedroom and seen things I’m not meant to see. Daddy Freeze, I need therapy with what I’ve seen.” The team emphasized that their efforts have always been focused on positioning 2Baba alongside globally recognised African icons.
Halted International Plans
Management recounted plans for major international projects, including a UK tour, an African tour, stadium concerts, and government-supported performances in at least five countries. However, they alleged that these initiatives were abruptly halted. “But Natasha came and said no. We’re stamping everything down. We can’t move,” they claimed.
According to the team, their long-term vision was to elevate 2Baba to the level of global artists like Angélique Kidjo, noting: “You can’t compare yourself to Burna Boy, but you can still achieve what Angélique Kidjo has done. You can still do arenas.”
