opular social media activist VeryDarkMan has revealed a frightening experience he faced upon arriving in Nigeria from China.
During a livestream, VeryDarkMan recounted that security operatives at the airport seized his passport and warned that his life was in serious danger.
“The day I landed in this country, security operatives came and seized my passport. When they took it, I thought something had happened. I asked why they were seizing my passport, but they said nothing,” he said.
He was then taken into an office, where officials informed him that his life was under threat and advised him to seek protection from the police, the army, or the Department of State Services (DSS). According to VeryDarkMan, intercepted calls suggested that assassins were being sent after him.
When he asked who was behind the threats, the officials refused to disclose names, saying it involved a group rather than a single individual. He eventually got his passport back but declined any security protection. “They asked again, ‘Who do you want to protect you during this period… The police, the army, or the DSS?’ I told them nobody. I will never use security. The day I go is the day I go. If I am gone today, I’m good,” he said.
The revelation has sparked reactions online, with some social media users warning him to be careful. “VDM needs to be very careful. This story no be small thing,” one person commented, while another added, “If security is warning him like this, the threat must be real.”
VeryDarkMan’s decision to refuse protection has ignited online debate, with many hoping for his safety in the coming days.
