Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has sparked discussions online after issuing a stern warning about disloyal friends and hidden intentions.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), AY urged his followers to be cautious of friends who rush to amplify negative news about them just to gain attention or profit from online engagement.
Sharing a photo of himself, he wrote:
“Beware of anyone who calls you a friend yet rushes to jump on any negative news about you just to trend and gain monetization. Not everyone around you wishes you well. May God protect us from friends who are truly enemies in disguise. Their karma is never far.”
His message quickly stirred a wave of reactions. One user responded by accusing AY of ignoring him back in Surulere and hinted at “nepotism,” claiming the comedian only supported certain people.
