FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited (FPEDL) has announced a planned single-day power outage in Anambra State.

According to the company’s statement on Friday, the blackout is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

FPEDL explained that the outage is necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) crew to install a TR13 60 MegaVolt-Ampere transformer and reconfigure the outgoing feeders at the Onitsha Transmission Station.

The disco noted that bulk electricity supply will be affected to the following areas and feeders:

• Army Barracks
• Awada
• Obosi
• Umunya
• Juddy Bolema
• Nnewi Oba
• Nnewi Industrial
• Ossomala
• 3-3
• Niccus
• Ogidi
• Nwaziki 11 kV feeder
• Woliwo 11 kV feeder

“FPEDL wishes to inform our esteemed customers of this planned outage and appreciates their understanding as we work to improve electricity supply reliability,” the statement added.
