Nigerian Army Rescues 10 Kidnapped Women in Kaduna

Troops of Operation Peace Shield have rescued 10 abducted women during a special operation conducted early Friday in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A credible military source at the Army Headquarters confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The victims were kidnapped from their farms in Unguwan Nungu on November 29, prompting Sector 5 troops to launch a sustained search-and-rescue effort. According to the source, soldiers intercepted the kidnappers at about 6:40 a.m. on Friday, as the criminals attempted to collect ransom from the victims’ relatives.

The troops reportedly engaged the abductors with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the hostages and escape.

Items recovered during the operation included a fabricated AK-47 rifle, one round of 9mm ammunition, and ₦1.6 million, believed to be part of the ransom payment.
