Actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up about a harrowing period in her life, revealing that she was stalked by a man for more than nine years, enduring up to 50 phone calls a day along with disturbing and graphic messages.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Akintola said she kept the situation hidden from her family, fearing her mother would be overwhelmed with worry.

The actress described the harassment as relentless, explaining that the stalker sent threatening and unsettling messages daily or every other day, leaving her emotionally distressed.

“I had some guy who stalked me for a long time. It was bad. I don’t know how it ended. I just noticed one day that he had stopped sending messages. This was over nine years,” she said.
“He made me miserable. He would call 50 times a day… graphic messages about how he loved me and what he wanted to do. I never told my parents because my mom would have panicked.”

Akintola’s revelation adds to ongoing conversations about the safety risks public figures face and the emotional toll of long-term harassment.
