A fire broke out at a residential building on Agbaakin Street, behind Testing Ground in Iwo Road, Ibadan, claiming the life of one woman and injuring two men, who were rescued.

The Oyo State Fire Service, led by Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed that the fire started Monday evening, December 8, 2025, at 20:18hrs, due to an unattended lighted charcoal cooking pot igniting nearby combustible materials.

The blaze affected two rooms on the upper floor of a twelve-room building. With the support of the Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command, fire officers successfully contained the fire, saving the remaining rooms and property worth millions of naira.
