Apostle Johnson Suleman Criticizes Nyesom Wike, Lt. Yerima Over Viral Clash

Apostle Johnson Suleman has publicly condemned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Lieutenant Yerima following their widely circulated confrontation on social media.

Speaking during a church service, the cleric described the altercation as an embarrassing reflection of Nigeria’s broader leadership and societal challenges. He criticized Lieutenant Yerima for acting beyond his rank, stating that a naval officer should not speak to a police officer in a demeaning manner.

Apostle Suleman also blamed Wike for provoking the incident, emphasizing that personal dislike or bias should not justify defending wrongful behavior. He described the episode as emblematic of a system in which both the oppressor and the oppressed can display oppressive tendencies.

In his words:

“I don’t like the minister, I don’t like him… Now the fact that you hate a man, the fact that you don’t like a man does not mean you support what is wrong… That was just Nigeria. The oppressor and the oppressed is equally an oppressor.”

The cleric’s remarks have reignited discussions on leadership, accountability, and decorum in public office, especially among uniformed personnel and political figures.
