Osun 2026: Tight Security as 1,660 Delegates Set for APC Guber Primary

Heavy security was in place on Saturday at the Ebunoluwa Hall in Osogbo, the venue for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Osun State. A total of 1,660 delegates are expected to participate in the primary to elect the party’s candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial election.

The APC Primary Committee, led by Governor Monday Okpebolo of Edo State, had earlier disclosed that the affirmation method would be adopted for the election process. The committee had completed the accreditation of delegates, with security provided by personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure a smooth and secure process.

Delegates are seated based on their respective local government areas, with several prominent party leaders arriving at the venue.
