Family Appeals for Release of Young Salvation Army Pastor in Anambra Prison

The family of Captain Chukwudinma Offornze, a young Salvation Army pastor, has raised concerns over his continued detention at Ezinifite Correctional Centre, Anambra State, since November 1, 2025. His arrest followed a dispute linked to a rumour involving a senior church official and a female church member in Umuchu, Aguata LGA.

Family members insist Offornze did not originate the rumour but sought to verify it to defend the church’s image. After writing an apology letter in good faith, the woman reportedly rejected it, leading to his arrest. The family claims he is being subjected to hardship and intimidation in custody.

They have called on church leaders, authorities, and well-meaning Nigerians to intervene and secure his release.
