FG Urged to Boost Funding for NTAC as Key Asset for South-South Cooperation

The federal government has been urged to strengthen the Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by providing increased financial support to enhance its role in foreign policy and South-South cooperation.

Edwin Olorunfemi, foreign affairs analyst and Executive Director of the New Era for Sustainable Leadership and Accountability Initiative (NESLAI), made the call in a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday.

Olorunfemi praised NTAC for its significant contributions to Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and for reinforcing South-South collaboration.

He noted that the Corps has consistently promoted Nigeria’s values, competence, and goodwill across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific through programs that deploy skilled Nigerian professionals to strengthen human capacity development.

“Through NTAC, Nigeria has not only shared expertise but has also forged enduring partnerships rooted in solidarity, cooperation, and shared development goals,” Olorunfemi said.

He added, “NTAC has proven its worth through tangible impact, service, and results. Supporting the Corps is essential for sustaining Nigeria’s voice, leadership, and positive presence on the global stage.”
