
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a locally made firearm along with a stolen motorcycle during an operation in Nasarawa town.
The suspects, identified as Isaac Audu and Jamilu Yusuf, were apprehended by operatives of the Nasarawa Division over allegations of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the State Police Spokesperson, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, armed with a locally fabricated gun, allegedly attacked a resident in the Foundation Area, behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff School, in the early hours of Saturday, December 20, 2025. During the attack, the victim was reportedly dispossessed of an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle.
Acting on timely intelligence, police operatives tracked and arrested the suspects shortly after the incident. The locally made firearm and stolen motorcycle were recovered during the operation.
Confirming the arrests, Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the swift response of the officers involved. He urged personnel of the command to remain proactive and vigilant in combating crime.
He also reassured residents of Nasarawa State of adequate security, particularly during the Yuletide season, and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
