Kalu Pledges to Deliver Abia State to APC in 2027

Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator representing Abia North, has vowed to use his influence to ensure that Abia State votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.

Kalu made the declaration during his annual New Year visit to the Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, at Ekoli in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The former Abia State governor said he would deploy all his resources to wrest power from the ruling Labour Party (LP) in the state.

“I will support President Bola Tinubu and the APC governorship candidate in the elections. I will put my heart on the field to ensure that the APC wins a landslide in Abia State,” Kalu stated.

While acknowledging his friendship with Abia Governor Dr. Alex Otti, he emphasized that his focus was on the APC’s electoral victory.

Kalu also urged governors across the country to secure their states rather than leave the responsibility to the President. He cited his own tenure as Abia governor, saying:

“When I was governor, Abia enjoyed total security of lives and property. There were no cases of kidnapping, unlike other states facing heightened insecurity. Governors should emulate Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, who has ensured peace and stability in his state.”

On the reason for his visit, Kalu explained his long-standing loyalty to the Ebonyi APC chairman:

“Chief Okoro-Emegha is an embodiment of loyalty. I raised him even when his father was alive, and he was part of the success stories during my governorship. I urged former Governor David Umahi to ensure 100 per cent loyalty, and he has maintained that virtue under the current administration.”
