Gov. Buni Launches 2026 Emblem Appeal Week with N35 Million Donation

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has officially launched the 2026 Emblem Appeal Week, contributing N30 million on behalf of the state government and an additional N5 million personally to the state branch of the Nigeria Legion.

Speaking at the event, Governor Buni commended the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes, noting their dedication in local, regional, and international efforts to maintain peace, security, and liberty.

“The day reminds us of the significant contributions of our gallant soldiers in the fight against security challenges, including the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, cattle rustling, kidnapping, and other criminal activities,” Buni said.

He added, “Many of our soldiers lost their lives or were maimed in the line of duty, defending the sovereignty, peace, and unity of our nation. They paid the supreme price for Nigeria and humanity to enjoy safety and liberty.”

Buni also praised the Nigerian military for bringing pride to the nation in global forums such as the United Nations and ECOWAS, highlighting their professionalism and bravery in international peacekeeping efforts.

The Governor urged individuals, organizations, and corporate bodies to support the families of fallen heroes through generous contributions.
