Gov. Mutfwang Dumps PDP, Joins APC in Plateau

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The move was marked on Friday in Jos, where APC State Chairman Rufus Bature formally presented the governor with his party membership card.

Speaking at the event, Governor Mutfwang said his decision was made in the interest of the state and promised to maintain an inclusive system despite the party change.

“The journey we are embarking on is a journey of faith, and I believe Plateau will reap the dividends of this union,” he said. “I know there are skeptics, but I say be patient. Time will reveal everything. To the fearful, take courage — fear no more, because we have come for good.”

The governor expressed gratitude to his former party, PDP, for providing a platform for his political journey, but emphasized that his move to APC would drive qualitative leadership for Plateau.

Governor Mutfwang also thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support for Plateau and pledged to back Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
