Motorists on the Kaduna–Abuja highway have faced severe delays, with many stranded for hours due to persistent traffic congestion. The problem, which has become especially acute during festive periods, continues to cause significant hardship for commuters.
According to passengers, journeys that typically take about two and a half hours stretched to five to six hours due to the gridlock.
Malam Ali M. Ali, Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who was also caught in the traffic, called on relevant authorities to take immediate action to ease the congestion. He urged that long-term measures be implemented to prevent the recurring gridlock.
