Popular Nigerian singer Ololade Asake has reportedly reconciled with his father, Fatai Odunsi, months after a highly publicised family dispute sparked accusations of abandonment.

A photo shared online on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, shows the father and son together in a relaxed setting, signalling a return to peace after a prolonged period of tension.

The reunion follows a turbulent episode earlier in 2025 when Mr Odunsi accused the singer of neglecting him while he was recovering from a stroke. The allegation triggered widespread public debate, with fans and critics questioning Asake’s responsibility toward his ailing father.

Sources close to the family say the music star has since taken concrete steps to mend the relationship. Asake reportedly committed to covering his father’s medical expenses and also promised to purchase a new luxury home for him.

These gestures are believed to have played a major role in rebuilding trust and restoring understanding between them.

The controversy surrounding Asake’s family life also extended to his baby mama, Adijat, who accused the singer of abandoning their daughter, Zeenat, for six years after gaining fame. She claimed she had supported Asake financially during his university days at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, through her thrift business, only to be neglected later.

In March 2025, Asake publicly reunited with Adijat and their daughter during the Flytime Music Festival, a moment many viewed as a step toward healing strained family ties.
