Children and Artisans Receive Empowerment Tools at JamaJama Event

The JamaJama Empowerment Day, a social upskilling initiative led by the Muslim community, has provided practical opportunities for children and artisans while offering hope to families, according to spokesperson Abiola Sadik.

The event featured games and activities for children, along with the distribution of books, food, and beverages. Children developing skills received tools to support their talents, fostering self-reliance and confidence.

A highlight of the day involved an eight-year-old street barber who was brought to the event by his father. Through the JamaJama platform, the child was immediately hired as an artisan, receiving new barber tools to further his craft. Witnesses noted the boy’s confidence as he worked, while his father proudly watched.

Sadik described the moment as emblematic of JamaJama’s mission: “identifying talent, creating access to work, and instilling confidence in the next generation.”

She added that the initiative represents an early step in JamaJama’s ongoing efforts to nurture creativity, support artisans, and build a stronger future for Nigeria and Africa.
