The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the joint task force of Operation Hadin Kai, has carried out a precise air strike against terrorist positions in AbbagaJiri, Borno State, part of the Timbuktu Triangle.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations, the operation targeted confirmed terrorist structures and logistics facilities, using integrated surveillance and precision air strikes. The mission successfully paved the way for ground troops to advance into the area.
Ejodame stated that the air attacks degraded terrorist capabilities, denied them sanctuary, and neutralized armed elements, while ensuring civilian safety and strict adherence to rules of engagement.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the operation as a demonstration of the NAF’s dominance in the air domain and commitment to joint operations. He added:
“We will continue to deny terrorists freedom of movement, sanctuary, and logistics wherever they seek to hide. Air operations will remain relentless and intelligence-driven.”
The air strikes reinforced NAF’s strategy of precise, intelligence-led missions to support ground forces, maintain operational momentum, and dismantle terrorist networks threatening lives, property, and national security in northeastern Nigeria.
