Reality TV star Tacha has rejected the popular saying “na man dey do man,” arguing that men support and advance each other far more than women do.
In a detailed post on X, Tacha highlighted the male dominance in leadership and funding across sectors such as politics, business, entertainment, technology, oil and gas, finance, and the creative industry. She stressed that women continue to face structural barriers and higher expectations, limiting their progress.
Reflecting on her own career, Tacha said that if she were a man with the same influence, ideas, and work ethic, she would likely have achieved more due to easier access to opportunities. She emphasized that men frequently fund other men, while women often face additional scrutiny or unsolicited expectations.
“That’s not opinion, that’s structure. Men fund men far more than they fund women, and even women often prefer doing business with men over other women. So abeg… how did we arrive at the idea that men are somehow the most unsupported group?” she wrote.
Tacha also pointed out the differences in how business interactions unfold: for men, deals can happen informally over a handshake, while women often encounter conditions or distractions unrelated to business. She urged women to work harder, over-prepare, and prove their competence consistently, noting that power in society is largely concentrated among men.
“‘Na man dey do man’ is just pure nonsense. Women succeed despite the system, not because of it,” she concluded.
