Nigerian music star Burna Boy has explained the reason behind kicking a fan during his performance at a Lagos concert.

The incident, which quickly went viral, showed the singer abruptly leaving the stage after a fan attempted to touch him during the 2025 Lagos Countdown concert. The altercation sparked criticism online, with many users labeling Burna Boy as one of the most arrogant Nigerian artists.

In response to the backlash, Burna Boy addressed the situation through an Instagram story on Wednesday evening, revealing that he suffers from PTSD. He also cautioned his fans against jumping on stage during his performances.

“It was a free show. I was meant to perform for 10 minutes but ended up doing almost an hour. Everyone knows my stance on being startled while on stage,” he explained. “I had a great time with Lagos State last night. Please don’t jump on my stage like that! I’ve got PTSD. Love you all. Happy New Year.”
