Éric Chelle Says NFF Will Decide His Future as Super Eagles Coach

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has stated that his future with Nigeria’s national team depends entirely on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The 48-year-old coach signed a two-year contract with the NFF in January 2025, tasked with leading the Super Eagles to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 journey ended in the semi-finals following a dramatic 4-2 penalty shootout loss to hosts Morocco at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Speaking after the game, Chelle emphasized his willingness to continue with the team but acknowledged that the decision rests with the Federation.

“My future, I don’t know for now. I am the coach of Nigeria at this moment, but it depends on whether the NFF want me to continue or not,” Chelle said.
“The tournament is not over yet. After the AFCON, I will meet with the NFF and we will decide the next step.”
