Youth and Women Leadership Crucial to APC’s Future, Says Rinsola Abiola

Youth and gender advocate Rinsola Abiola, Director General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), has urged governors and party leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritize youth and women leadership, emphasizing that their inclusion is essential for securing the party’s future.

Speaking on social media, Abiola encouraged young Nigerians to take part in the ongoing APC membership registration and revalidation exercise, highlighting that active participation is critical for shaping national development.

“Politics is not a spectator sport, and governance is not abstract. It is the vehicle through which we determine the quality of our lives,” she said.
“Seats at the table are being expanded under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, but only those who are present can occupy them.”

Abiola also stressed the importance of young women’s participation, describing them as a vital demographic for bridging the gender gap in political leadership.

“Young women are youths too. We stand at the intersection of two vital demographics—women and youths—and our perspectives are indispensable,” she noted.
“Do not wait for an invitation to lead; this is your chance to contribute actively to closing the gender gap in political leadership.”

She urged young party members to vie for leadership positions within the APC, even if they do not succeed initially, as the experience may open doors for future opportunities.

“Leadership is earned through strategic engagement. Signifying interest now can help secure opportunities later,” Abiola said.

Finally, she called on governors and party leaders to support youth and women candidates, aligning with President Tinubu’s vision for inclusive governance.

“By empowering young, competent, and dedicated members, we are securing the future of the APC,” she concluded.
