Shettima, Akpabio Release Pigeons at Armed Forces Remembrance Day Ceremony in Abuja

Vice President Kashim Shettima and Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Thursday joined other top government officials in a symbolic release of pigeons during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held in Abuja.

The event took place at the Cenotaph of the Unknown Soldier, Eagle Square, where dignitaries gathered to honour Nigerian military personnel who paid the ultimate price in service to the nation.

The release of pigeons, a central highlight of the ceremony, symbolised peace, freedom, and national unity, as well as Nigeria’s enduring commitment to remembering and honouring its fallen heroes.

Vice President Shettima attended the ceremony on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, who was represented at the event.

The remembrance ceremony featured moments of reflection, laying of wreaths, military honours, and other patriotic displays dedicated to celebrating the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of members of the Armed Forces.
