
Fans and community members have been thrown into deep mourning following the arrival of the remains of late Afrofuji singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, in Ayetoro.
A disturbing video that surfaced online shows the 22-year-old artiste’s body being brought down from a white bus as onlookers gathered in shock. The footage, which showed wool placed in his nostrils, quickly went viral and sparked emotional reactions across social media.
Many fans expressed disbelief and heartbreak over the visuals, while others criticised those who recorded and shared the sensitive moment, describing it as disrespectful to the deceased and his family.
The video has also reignited widespread speculation about the circumstances surrounding Destiny Boy’s death. Online rumours ranging from a sudden collapse to allegations of poisoning and ritual involvement have continued to circulate. However, no official cause of death has been confirmed.
Further speculation arose when Destiny Boy’s remains were reportedly taken to Ayetoro General Hospital, with observers claiming they noticed an unidentified substance coming from his mouth and nose. These claims remain unverified.
Destiny Boy’s death has been particularly painful for fans as the fast-rising singer had recently welcomed his first child and was considered one of the promising voices in the Afrofuji genre.
As tributes continue to pour in, the singer’s family is yet to issue an official statement regarding funeral arrangements or the cause of his death.
