Parallex Bank Plc has reiterated its dedication to empowering Africa’s youth through its sponsorship of the 2025 Future Africa Leaders Awards (FALA), held on December 31, 2025.
Organised by the Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF), the annual awards celebrate young Africans who have made exceptional contributions to their communities. The 2025 edition honoured ten outstanding leaders across sectors including education, technology, healthcare, agriculture, community service, and social innovation.
The star prize went to Rejoice Waithera, a 23-year-old Kenyan agripreneur and humanitarian, recognised for transformative initiatives in food security, waste management, and community health.
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Dr. Olufemi Bakre, Managing Director of Parallex Bank, said the bank’s sponsorship reflects its belief in Africa’s youth and their potential to redefine the continent’s development trajectory. Represented by Mr. Ademola Adeshola, Head of Brands and Communication, Bakre highlighted that Nigeria’s young population—nearly 70% under the age of 30—represents a powerful demographic advantage capable of driving innovation, social impact, and economic growth.
He added that Parallex Bank’s involvement aligns with its long-term commitment to youth empowerment, providing platforms, resources, and mentorship to expand leadership potential across Africa.
Bakre lauded the 2025 FALA winners and ambassadors for their courage, creativity, and resilience, describing their accomplishments as a testament to a new generation turning challenges into opportunities. He urged the young leaders to continue driving Africa’s development with integrity, purpose, and responsibility.
He also commended the Future Africa Leaders Foundation for its sustained efforts in youth leadership development, acknowledging its pivotal role in inspiring hope and cultivating a legacy of impactful leadership across the continent.
