
TECNO, the leading smartphone Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Official Global Partner of AFCON 2025, has deployed artificial intelligence (AI) across multiple African markets to enhance fans’ engagement with the tournament.
Across North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and key AFCON regions, fans attended TECNO-organized watching parties featuring live match screenings, interactive product displays, AI-powered demonstrations, performance shows, games, lucky draws, and temporary pop-up stores. These activations allowed visitors to explore TECNO’s AI ecosystem while celebrating the collective energy and passion of African football culture.
The company extended the matchday experience beyond stadiums and screens through its Technology Carnival activations, held in public spaces, retail outlets, and pop-up venues across several countries. Launched at the start of AFCON and running until January 18, 2026, these immersive experiences combined football, technology, and entertainment for fans of all ages.
At each activation, TECNO highlighted how AI-driven technology enhances fan engagement, from understanding match dynamics to capturing and sharing standout moments. Visitors experienced TECNO smartphones and devices hands-on, discovering features designed to make football moments clearer, smarter, and more interactive.
In parallel with offline watching parties, TECNO conducted a series of AFCON-themed retail events, tailored to local markets, further enabling fans to engage with technology while celebrating the tournament.
