Fulham FC are reportedly in discussions to sign Oscar Bobb from Manchester City, as the 22-year-old winger seeks more regular playing time in the Premier League.
Bobb, a talented Norwegian international, has struggled to secure a starting spot under Pep Guardiola this season, particularly after City’s recent £62.5m signing of forward Antoine Semenyo, which adds extra competition on the wings.
Fulham’s Interest in Oscar Bobb
Sources close to the negotiations told BBC Sport that talks between Fulham and Manchester City have taken place, although the Cottagers have not yet made a formal bid.
Bobb’s potential move could be structured either as a permanent transfer or a loan deal, with Fulham aiming to strengthen their attacking options on the flanks. The club has enjoyed a solid run of form under Marco Silva, losing just once in their past seven Premier League matches, and currently sits 11th in the league table while advancing to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Competition at Manchester City
At City, Bobb has found opportunities limited. He has featured 15 times this season but has yet to score a goal, as competition for forward and winger positions intensifies. The arrival of Antoine Semenyo adds another layer of depth on the right wing, where Brazilian Savinho also competes for playing time.
Bobb last appeared for City on 17 December in the Carabao Cup against Brentford, but was forced off injured within the first 20 minutes. When asked about the winger’s fitness ahead of City’s Champions League group stage clash with Bodo/Glimt, Guardiola stated:
“He says he is not fit, so he is not fit.”
This suggests that Bobb may be allowed to move on this January window to secure consistent minutes elsewhere.
European Interest and Career Background
In addition to Fulham, Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund has reportedly shown interest in Bobb, highlighting his potential at the European level.
The Norwegian international has featured six times for Norway in 2026, helping his country qualify for this summer’s FIFA World Cup. A move to Fulham would see him join compatriot Sander Berge at Craven Cottage, providing familiar support as he aims to regain form and playing time.
Bobb’s career has been hampered by injuries; he missed almost the entire 2024–25 season after fracturing a bone in his leg during training in August 2024. Despite these setbacks, he remains a highly rated young winger with strong technical ability and versatility on either flank.
Fulham’s Plans and Premier League Position
Under Marco Silva, Fulham have enjoyed a resurgence in the Premier League, blending experienced players with emerging talents. The potential addition of Bobb could enhance their attacking depth, particularly on the wings, allowing Silva to rotate his squad effectively across domestic and cup competitions.
If completed, the transfer would mark a significant acquisition for Fulham FC and provide Bobb with a fresh opportunity to re-establish himself as a regular starter in England’s top flight.
