The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to clarify under which law Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB’s leader, is being prosecuted. The group claims that the law used to charge Kanu has been repealed and criticized the court for not explaining the legal basis for the trial. IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, argued that the NBA, as the “guardian of legal conscience,” should step in to inform Nigerians, instead of commentators offering opinions on television and social media.
