Delta State University Rusticates Student for TikTok Video

Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU), has rusticated 200-level Biotechnology student Ezi Ugoma for four semesters after she filmed a dying student at the University Health Centre and posted the video on TikTok.

The university said Ugoma breached her matriculation oath and committed gross misconduct, violating the institution’s code of conduct. She will resume studies in the 2027/2028 academic session.

Her stepfather reportedly reacted angrily, telling her to “kiss her education goodbye.” Meanwhile, broadcast journalist Oseni Rufai condemned the action on X, calling it unjust and urging the Vice Chancellor to reconsider, warning that her future could be “shattered and cut short.”
