A young POS operator was killed and several others injured during an attack in Sodawa village, Ghari Local Government Area, Kano State.
A resident, Mallam Zaharaddin, said the incident occurred late Sunday night. He explained that the suspected armed robbers trailed the victim after he withdrew money for his business.
“They blocked him on his way and opened fire, killing him instantly,” Zaharaddin said. “After that, they continued shooting and attacked nearby shops.”
Security operatives later arrived on the scene, taking the injured victims to the hospital for urgent treatment.
Zaharaddin noted that this was not the first attack in the area, which borders Jigawa State. Residents are calling on the government and security agencies to act swiftly to curb the growing insecurity.
