‘I Have Been Prevented From Travelling’ – Senator Natasha Akpoti

Senator Natasha Akpoti, representing Kogi Central, has alleged that her international passport is being withheld, preventing her from travelling abroad.

The lawmaker made the claim during a live Facebook broadcast on Tuesday morning, stating that she had planned to take a week off following the celebration of her second anniversary in office.

“I have committed no offense, and there is no court order to seize my passport or stop me from travelling,” Akpoti said.

She added that a similar incident had occurred previously, explaining, “The last time it happened, the officer in charge informed us that Senate President Godswill Akpabio instructed them to withhold my passport and prevent me from travelling.”
