A$AP Rocky Faces $1.1 Million Lawsuit Over Alleged Condo Water Damage

A$AP Rocky, the 37-year-old rapper known for hits like Praise the Lord, is facing a $1.1 million lawsuit after renovations in his New York City condominium allegedly caused extensive water damage to the units below.

According to court documents filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on October 30, 2025, and obtained by PEOPLE, the incident occurred on December 23, 2024, during renovations managed by contractors ADE Pro Painting. Several hot water pipes reportedly burst in Rocky’s unit, cascading water into the neighboring apartments.

The lawsuit, filed under the name Chez Ni LLC, claims the water intrusion caused “destructive” damage to the neighbor’s unit, including fixtures, furnishings, improvements, and personal property. Additionally, the plaintiffs allege they were displaced from their home while repairs were completed, resulting in a loss of use and enjoyment of the property.

Details of the Lawsuit

The complaint names A$AP Rocky, ADE Pro Painting, the condo board, and Tyson Beem—the beneficial owner of the unit on behalf of Rocky—as defendants. The plaintiffs are seeking:

  • $900,000 for damages to their property
  • $200,000 for temporary living expenses while displaced
  • $42,000+ in charges from the board for emergency contractor services, including removal of damaged sheetrock, mopping water, and running dehumidifiers

The lawsuit asserts that neither Rocky nor the contractors have acknowledged responsibility for the incident, leaving the affected residents to cover damages and displacement costs.

Statements from Legal Representatives

The plaintiffs’ attorney, Jonathan Jeremias of Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP, told PEOPLE:

“As a result of this terrible incident, our client, as well as other residents and families in the building, were displaced from their homes beginning last Christmas Eve and for several weeks and months following. Still, neither Mr. Mayers nor any of the parties have acknowledged fault and accepted responsibility for the damage they caused. We will continue to champion on behalf of our client for a full, fair and just resolution.”

PEOPLE reached out to A$AP Rocky’s representatives, who declined to comment on the ongoing litigation.
