Residents of Sabo Primary Health Care Centre in Kuje Area Council, FCT have raised alarm over years of neglect at the facility, which serves around 7,200 people.
According to Tracka, BudgIT’s public expenditure tracking platform, the health centre is in a dilapidated state:
- Roof and ceiling have collapsed
- Wards lack beds
- No drugs or medical equipment
- Facility reportedly abandoned for about seven years
Residents say the poor condition has forced them to rely on local chemists, and tragically, several women have died during childbirth due to the lack of proper care.
Local stakeholders are appealing to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Senator Ireti Kingibe, and Hon. Abdullahi Sabo to reconstruct and equip the facility to prevent further loss of lives.
