AFCON 2025: Lookman, Osayi-Samuel Arrive to Boost Super Eagles Camp in Egypt

Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, and several other players have joined the Super Eagles’ training camp in Cairo as Nigeria ramps up preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Recent arrivals include defenders Semi Ajayi and Igho Ogbu, goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, and newly called-up midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi, bringing the total number of players in camp to eight.

Earlier on Sunday, goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Stanley Nwabali had reported to camp as head coach Éric Chelle continues to assemble his squad. More players are expected to arrive later, ahead of the team’s first official training session scheduled for Monday evening.

Friendly Against Egypt

Nigeria will face host nation Egypt in a friendly match at Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday. The fixture serves as a key warm-up ahead of the tournament. Egypt is still awaiting the arrival of top stars like Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, although several players have already been training since the weekend.

AFCON Group Stage Challenge

The Super Eagles have been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda. Nigeria will open its campaign against Tanzania at Fez Stadium on December 23.
