Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has praised midfielder Raphael Onyedika, calling him Nigeria’s most underrated player at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

Osimhen highlighted Onyedika’s crucial contributions to coach Eric Chelle’s squad, noting that the Club Brugge midfielder has often gone unnoticed despite his performances. The striker specifically pointed to Onyedika’s two-goal display against Uganda as evidence of his talent.

“Onyedika has been one of our best players, and most of the time, he does not get the hype he deserves,” Osimhen said. “He is really a talented player, and for the performance he delivered against Uganda, I believe he deserves to be in the spotlight.”

Onyedika is expected to play a key role for Nigeria in their upcoming Round of 16 clash against Mozambique on Monday.
