The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has officially launched the application portal for its Diamond Showcase, ahead of the 9th edition of the awards scheduled to hold in Lagos, Nigeria. This platform aims to discover and celebrate Africa’s rising music talents, offering them a path to mainstream success.
According to AFRIMA organisers, the Diamond Showcase is open to singers, rappers, DJs, producers, and instrumentalists from across the continent. It provides young creatives with an opportunity to showcase their talents on one of Africa’s most prestigious music stages.
“The Showcase welcomes artists from all corners of Africa to apply and take their place on one of the continent’s most respected music platforms,” the statement read.
Janatte Haddadi, AFRIMA’s Regional Manager for Northern Africa, described the Showcase as a rare and valuable opportunity for undiscovered artists. She emphasised AFRIMA’s commitment to mentoring and promoting emerging African music stars, many of whom often remain unnoticed in their local communities.
Applications opened on November 18, 2025, and will close on December 8, 2025. Interested artists are encouraged to apply early via the AFRIMA website and Instagram pages.
“Artists must submit a 45-second performance video. The AFRIMA Jury will review all entries and select the top 15 finalists, known as ‘The Diamonds,’ who will be invited to Lagos for the live Showcase,” Haddadi explained.
The finalists will be hosted in Lagos from January 6 to 7, 2026, performing each evening from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. As part of the experience, selected artists will receive an all-expense-paid trip, special AFRIMA gifts, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to perform in front of top music executives, media platforms, and key industry leaders.
“We want to find the brightest diamonds in the rough across Africa. Many talented artists have never had the chance to be seen by those who can shape their careers. The Diamond Showcase bridges that gap,” Haddadi said.
The 9th AFRIMA Awards will take place in Lagos from January 7 to 11, 2026, featuring events such as the Africa Music Business Summit, Music Village Concert, Nominees Party, Red Carpet, and the grand Awards Night. Hosted in partnership with the African Union and Lagos State, the ceremony will be broadcast live to over 84 countries worldwide.
“If you believe in your gift, this is the time to act. Don’t wait. Africa is ready to meet its next big talents, and we are ready to support your first major step,” Haddadi urged.
